Description
Overview
Betaine hydrochloride (HCl) is an excellent source of hydrochloric acid, also known as stomach acid. Betaine HCl helps to support proper stomach acidity, as adequate HCl is necessary to begin the breakdown of proteins and to trigger the secretion of enzymes that help digest fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. It is also necessary for the absorption of iron, vitamins B6, B9, and B12, calcium, and some medications.
Proprietary blend of digestive enzymes: The pancreas produces enzymes that are required for digestion and absorption of food. Enzymes secreted by the pancreas include lipases, proteases, and amylases, which aid in the breakdown of fats, proteins, and starches, respectively.
Ox bile extract provides bile acids, which are key to the digestion of fat and fat-soluble vitamins.
Dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) is a special enzyme that aids in the breakdown of hard-to-digest proteins in wheat, soy, and milk.
